NewsNation247 is built to be usable by everyone, and we aim to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA standard across the site.

What we do

• Semantic HTML with a single main heading and labelled landmarks on every page.
• A “skip to content” link and a visible keyboard focus outline throughout.
• Text that reflows to any screen and never forces horizontal scrolling.
• Colour contrast checked against WCAG AA in both light and dark themes.
• A manual light/dark theme control, and full support for “reduce motion”.
• Every image carries descriptive alternative text.
• “Listen to this article” reads any story aloud, on-device.

Known limitations

Some third-party images we cite are served with the caption supplied by the source. Where a caption is missing, we fall back to a descriptive label. We keep improving this.
