How We Report

NewsNation247 is an AI-assisted, source-first newsroom. This page describes, concretely, how a story is made — so you can judge our work by its method, not just its output.

1. Monitoring the record

We continuously monitor a curated set of primary and high-authority sources — regulators (RBI, SEBI, TRAI), ministries and government publishers, stock exchanges, official company disclosures, and established journalism. We favour the primary record over second-hand reporting.

2. Events, not headlines

Incoming items are de-duplicated and clustered by meaning into events. Many reports about the same happening become one event, with a count of how many independent sources corroborate it. An event is the unit we reason about; an article is only its output.

3. Research → draft → review

For a qualifying event, an automated researcher extracts the concrete, checkable claims that its sources actually support. A writer drafts the article from that fact pack only. A separate reviewing step then checks every specific factual claim against the fact pack and classifies the story for legal and editorial risk. This maker–checker separation is deliberate: the checker can withhold what the writer produced.

4. Gated publication

Nothing is published automatically unless it clears three gates: its claims are supported by sources, it passes the risk classification, and it meets a structural quality bar. Sensitive categories — allegations, legal matters, market-moving or politically contested claims — are held for human review rather than auto-published. Content that falls short still exists but is not indexed, protecting the quality of what we surface.

5. Sources on every page

Every article lists the sources behind it, with primary sources marked. We show our working so readers — and AI answer engines — can trace each story to the record.

6. Updates and corrections

As an event develops, we append timestamped updates to the same article rather than publishing near-duplicates, and we move the “updated” date only when the content actually changes. When we get something wrong, we fix it transparently through our Corrections process.

Human oversight

Routine, well-sourced stories that clear the automated fact-check, safety and quality gates are published automatically. Anything the system flags — higher-risk or sensitive categories (allegations, legal matters, communal, market-moving or political content), weakly-sourced drafts, or stories too close to a single source — is held for a human editor, who can approve or reject it. A person is accountable for what we publish and for corrections.

The automation operates under the standards in our Editorial Policy and AI Policy. Every article is attributed to the NewsNation247 Newsroom, and we never fabricate the byline of a person who does not exist.
