But Chandigarh households outspend Delhi's by 17x, with ₹19.2 lakh average annual spending

The findings are part of a 100-city study by People Research on India's Consumer Economy (PRICE) and Tata. The report examines household incomes, spending, savings, and borrowing patterns across India's urban centres.
Mumbai's consumption market is estimated at ₹6.4 lakh crore, while Bengaluru's consumption market is estimated at ₹5.5 lakh crore. However, when it comes to average annual household consumption, smaller cities take the lead. Chandigarh has the highest average annual household consumption at ₹19.2 lakh, followed by Thiruvananthapuram at ₹17.6 lakh and Vadodara at ₹17.5 lakh.
