DGCA probes Air India Phuket-Delhi turbulence; 4 crew still hospitalised
Seventeen passengers were injured and most discharged after severe turbulence on the Air India flight, triggering a regulatory investigation.
An Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi encountered severe turbulence, injuring 17 passengers and leaving four crew members still hospitalised.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched an investigation into the incident. While most of the injured passengers have been discharged from medical care, the four crew members remain under hospital observation. The final conclusions of the DGCA probe have not yet been released.
The regulator is also working on developing guidelines for emerging aviation technologies. Separately, India is formulating its own aviation standards rather than adopting those of other countries.
