Jujutsu Creator Joins ERSC

Martin von Zweigbergk, the creator of Jujutsu, has joined East River Source Control (ERSC) as chief technology officer. Von Zweigbergk will lead engineering on the company's next generation version control platforms, which aim to help organizations manage their source code management and collaboration tools in the face of increasing demands brought about by AI.

Von Zweigbergk began Jujutsu as a side project in late 2019, which has since gained popularity with over 30,000 stars on GitHub and ships under the Apache 2.0 license. Prior to Jujutsu, he worked on Fig, a Mercurial client, and contributed to Git, which is used by 96% of developers professionally, according to the 2022 Stack Overflow developer survey.

ERSC, which launched in 2025 and is backed by Amplify Partners, is building tools to address the exponentially increasing needs of source code management and collaboration tools. The company's storage solution, ERSC Storage, is set to enter private beta later this month.
