Madonna will not be headlining Glastonbury 2027, according to festival organiser Emily Eavis. Despite speculation that the singer would make her debut at the event, Eavis has confirmed that Madonna is not among the three headliners booked for next summer.

The rumour mill started grinding in June when Madonna hinted to BBC talk show host Graham Norton that she was planning something big in the UK next summer. However, Eavis has scotched these rumours, saying that 95% of Glastonbury stories are not true and rumours are pretty much always wrong.

Glastonbury has a history of hosting high-profile acts, with last year's festival headlined by The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo. Madonna, meanwhile, has never featured at the festival before, despite having 65 UK top 10 singles to her name. Only two artists, Elvis Presley and Cliff Richard, have achieved more UK Top 10 singles than Madonna.

Eavis did reveal that the festival's three headliners for 2027 are already booked, but declined to disclose their names. When asked about the possibility of a performance from Taylor Swift, Eavis laughed and said she didn't want to discuss the line-up any further.

## Why it matters The news will come as a disappointment to Madonna fans, who had been hoping to see the pop star perform at Glastonbury for the first time. However, with the festival's headliners already booked, attention will now turn to who will take to the stage next summer. Glastonbury is one of the most popular music festivals in the world, and the line-up is always highly anticipated.

Madonna recently performed during the half-time show at the Fifa men's World Cup final, and has been teasing new music and performances in the UK next summer. While she won't be appearing at Glastonbury, there are rumours that she could be heading for a record-breaking three-night stint at London's Hyde Park instead.
