RJD Dissolves All Organisational Units in Bihar Following By-Poll Loss
State president Mangani Lal Mandal announced the immediate dissolution after consultations with national working president Tejashwi Yadav.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has dissolved all its organisational units across Bihar with immediate effect. The decision covers district, block, and panchayat committees, as well as units associated with various cells and affiliated bodies.
The statement announcing the dissolution was issued by RJD state president Mangani Lal Mandal late on Thursday evening. According to the party, the decision was taken after consultation with RJD national working president Tejashwi Yadav. The RJD stated that the process of reconstituting organisational committees at all levels across Bihar will begin at the earliest.
Party sources linked the decision to the RJD's defeat in the Bankipur by-election. The Hindu reported that the party's traditional vote banks, Muslims and Yadavs, shifted support to Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor in the Bankipur contest.
Following the defeat, The Hindu reported that senior leader Bhai Virendra urged Tejashwi Yadav to act against 'irresponsible' leaders and stated that there was a need to get rid of 'sycophants' around him.
