Over 1,000 US firms flock to Karnataka as bilateral collaborations surge in tech and critical minerals.
Bilateral trade between the United States and India has crossed $240 billion, US Ambassador Sergio Gor announced, highlighting growing business interest from American companies in India.
Karnataka alone hosts more than 1,000 American companies, with their presence in the state expanding steadily. Gor met industry leaders and government officials to advance collaborations in advanced manufacturing, technology, and critical minerals. The critical minerals sector was identified as a key area for strengthening strategic supply chains between the two nations.
In a separate meeting, Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan discussed cooperation opportunities with Gor, who expressed interest in facilitating greater engagement between American firms and Kerala. Additionally, 40% of generic drugs consumed in the US are sourced from Indian manufacturers.
The discussions reflect efforts to deepen economic and strategic ties, including potential partnerships in recycling and recovery of critical minerals.
