2 Dead, 19-Year-Old Charged

Two people were found dead on Elphinstone Street in Regina, prompting a police investigation. The Regina Police Service arrived at the 1100 block of Elphinstone Street at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, where they found the bodies of a 42-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man outside a home.

A 19-year-old woman has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths. The suspect fled the scene and attempted to hide from police in a nearby yard, but was found with the help of a canine unit. During the arrest, the woman was bit by a police dog and taken to hospital.

The 19-year-old woman will also face charges for unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded, prohibited firearm. The Regina Police Service has stated that it will not release the names of the victims at the request of their families.
