Jon Voight's Surprise Call

Angelina Jolie's brother, James Haven, has come out as gay and received a surprise phone call from his father, Jon Voight, after years of estrangement. James announced his decision to come out on a livestream with his ex-wife, Romi Imbelli, and his father reached out to him after seeing the report.

During the phone call, Jon Voight told James, 'I finally know who you are', and the two had a 'really nice chat'. This conversation was a significant moment for James, who had felt a lack of value from his father during his upbringing. Jon Voight had called James multiple times before he finally picked up the phone, and their conversation was a relief to James.

James and Romi Imbelli are currently working on turning her book into a television show. The two had filed to annul their seven-month marriage over a year before James came out as gay. James had been estranged from his father for six years until 2007, and their complicated relationship has been well-documented.

## Why it matters The phone call between James Haven and Jon Voight is significant because it shows a shift in their relationship. Despite Jon Voight's conservative views, he has expressed love and support for his son after his coming out. This moment is important for James, who had felt unvalued by his father in the past. The conversation between the two is a step towards healing and reconciliation, and it highlights the importance of love and acceptance in overcoming differences.

James Haven's decision to come out as gay is also a significant moment for the LGBTQ+ community. His story highlights the challenges that many gay people face in coming out, particularly those from conservative or complicated family backgrounds. James's experience shows that it's never too late to find acceptance and love, even from those who may have been estranged in the past.
