Bhagat Singh Series in Development
Collective Studios' Historyverse is creating a new original series on the Indian freedom fighter's life, exploring his childhood and intellectual development, in association with Hathiramani Commercial Ventures and co-produced with Manish Hathiramani

A new original series on the life of Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh is in development at Collective Studios' Historyverse. The series is being made in association with Hathiramani Commercial Ventures and co-produced with investor and entrepreneur Manish Hathiramani, who marks his producing debut with the show.
The series will explore the life of Bhagat Singh, including his childhood, intellectual development, and the social and political forces that shaped his convictions. This will be a fresh take on the familiar story of Bhagat Singh, moving beyond the widely known episodes of his life to examine the man beneath the myth.
Manish Hathiramani's involvement in the project reflects his personal interest in exploring the lesser-known dimensions of India's history through historically rooted entertainment. Sudeep Lahiri, head of channels and distribution at Collective Media Network, said that the story of Bhagat Singh is one that people think they know completely, but there is more to explore behind the icon.
Bhagat Singh has been the subject of at least five Indian features, including 'Shaheed' (1965), 'Shaheed-E-Azam' (2002), '23rd March 1931: Shaheed' (2002), 'The Legend of Bhagat Singh' (2002), and 'Rang De Basanti' (2006). The Bhagat Singh project joins a Historyverse slate that includes titles drawn from Indian mythology and history, including projects centered on Shivaji and Swami Samarth.
## Why it matters The series on Bhagat Singh's life is significant because it will offer a new perspective on one of India's most iconic freedom fighters. By exploring the experiences, influences, and ideas that shaped him, the series will provide a deeper understanding of the person behind the legend. This project is also important because it reflects the growing interest in historically rooted entertainment in India, and the desire to explore new perspectives within stories that have already been told many times.
The development of this series is a significant step for Collective Studios' Historyverse, as it continues to expand its slate of original content. With Manish Hathiramani on board as a co-producer, the project is likely to bring a new level of excitement and ambition to the story of Bhagat Singh. As the series moves forward, it will be interesting to see how it is received by audiences and how it contributes to the ongoing conversation about India's history and cultural heritage.
