Christy Knowings Dead at 46

Christy Knowings, a former cast member of Nickelodeon's 'All That', has died at the age of 46 after suffering an asthma attack that left her with brain damage. She was hospitalized and placed on life support before her family made the decision to take her off it, and she died on Tuesday night at a Los Angeles-area hospital.

Knowings was a cast member on 'All That' from 1997 to 2000, appearing in 32 episodes of the show. During her time on the program, she played several characters, including Penny Lane and Jessica on the recurring 'Whateverrr!!!' sketch with Amanda Bynes.

The actress and comedian was hospitalized on August 7 after suffering the asthma attack and remained on life support until her family made the decision to take her off it on Tuesday. Kenan Thompson, a fellow cast member on 'All That', paid tribute to Knowings on social media.

Knowings' death is the second loss for the 'All That' family this year, following the fatal hit-and-run of Kianna Underwood in January. After 'All That', Knowings appeared in several episodes of 'Sesame Street' alongside her real-life twin brother, Chris Knowings, and released a folk single called 'To the World' in 2020.
