Jack Black Rocks Black Sabbath Set

Jack Black performed a high-energy Black Sabbath tribute set with his band Jack Sabbath at Tom Morello's Power to the People Fest. The set included performances of 'Mr. Crowley', 'The Wizard', and 'War Pigs', with the latter featuring a surprise appearance by Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler.

Jack Sabbath's lineup for the set included Tom Morello's son Roman on guitar, Scott Ian's son Revel on bass, Yoyoka Soma on drums, and Hugo Weiss on keyboards. Jack Black played harmonica during 'The Wizard', which he said he learned specifically for the gig.

The performance of 'War Pigs' was a highlight of the set, with Geezer Butler joining the band on stage. Roman Morello went toe-to-toe with Butler during the song, and the crowd was wowed by the energy of the performance.

In addition to the Jack Sabbath set, Jack Black also collaborated with other artists on a rendition of Aerosmith's 'Walk This Way'. The performance featured DMC rapping the verses, while Jack Black led the song's big chorus.

Geezer Butler praised Yoyoka Soma as 'an amazing drummer' on social media after the performance. Jack Sabbath made their debut in 2023 to perform 'Mr. Crowley' at the 100th birthday party of Tom Morello's mother Mary.
