MIP London Ends After 2 Years
Organizers launch new event MIP Talks alongside London Book Fair in March 2027, focusing on IP and fandom

MIP London, a TV market event, is coming to an end after just two years. The event, which launched in 2025, will not return for a third edition in 2027. Instead, organizers RX France are launching a new event called MIP Talks, which will run alongside the London Book Fair in March 2027.
MIP Talks will be a two-day conference held at London ExCel, focusing on the theme 'From IP to Fandom – and Fandom to Global Business'. The event aims to bring together voices from entertainment, media, and culture to explore the changing landscape of the industry.
The inaugural MIP Talks event will feature headline conversations, unexpected pairings, global trends and data, cultural insight, and case studies. According to Lucy Smith, Director of RX France's Entertainment Division, the boundaries of entertainment have all but disappeared, and IP can come from anywhere.
MIP London had around 2,000 attendees in 2026, which was down from its first year. Despite attracting big-name speakers, including David Beckham and Netflix content chief Bela Bajaria, the event struggled to establish itself in a crowded market.
## What happens next The launch of MIP Talks marks a new direction for RX France, which is also re-engineering its flagship event MIPCOM under Lucy Smith's leadership. The London Book Fair, organized by RX's Reed Exhibitions, is one of the company's flagship events and will run concurrently with MIP Talks. Emma Lowe, Director of the London Book Fair, expressed her delight at partnering with MIP Talks to bring together the worlds of storytelling and entertainment.
## Why it matters The end of MIP London and the launch of MIP Talks reflect the changing landscape of the entertainment industry. As traditional boundaries disappear and audiences move seamlessly across platforms, the need for events that bring together leading voices from across the industry has never been more pressing. MIP Talks aims to fill this gap, providing a platform for creators, brands, and platforms to convene and explore new opportunities.
The partnership between MIP Talks and the London Book Fair also highlights the increasingly connected worlds of entertainment, media, and culture. As the entertainment industry continues to evolve, events like MIP Talks will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the business.
