Netflix Launches 'Into the Southverse'
Dedicated hub brings South Indian films and series together, with one new title added every week through 2026

Netflix has launched 'Into the Southverse', a dedicated discovery hub for South Indian content, which brings films and series from southern India together in one easy-to-find destination on its India homepage.
The 'Into the Southverse' hub offers curated recommendations organized around languages, genres, stars, and moods, making it simpler for viewers to explore Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and other southern-language stories. The collection includes a mix of theatrical successes and Netflix Originals, such as Peddi, Blast, Amaran, Maharaja, Court: State vs A Nobody, and Lucky Bhaskar.
Netflix Originals such as Pyaar Prema Kalyanam, Made in Korea, and Super Subbu are also part of the collection. Notably, Made in Korea was the first title from southern India to reach No. 1 on Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English Films list, while Super Subbu is Netflix's first Telugu Original series.
The launch of 'Into the Southverse' is part of Netflix's broader push to increase its investment in content from the southern film industries. The company has announced that it will feature an average of one new title every week from southern India for the rest of 2026, including post-theatrical releases and Netflix Originals.
## Why it matters The move comes as southern Indian films and series continue to find audiences worldwide. Since 2025, Netflix's India Top 10 Films list has featured at least one film from southern India every week, and Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films appeared on Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English Films list in 39 of 52 weeks during 2025. Southern Indian titles have also reached Top 10 lists in 59 countries outside India in 2025, demonstrating their growing global appeal.
The launch of 'Into the Southverse' is expected to further expand the reach of South Indian content, making it easier for viewers to discover new titles and for creators to reach a wider audience. With its curated recommendations and dedicated hub, Netflix is poised to become a leading platform for South Indian films and series, both in India and globally.
