The Minnesota Wild has partnered with Prime Video to stream their games, with a monthly subscription costing $19.99 and an annual subscription costing $99.99. This move is part of a larger deal between Prime Video and the NHL, which starts with the 2026-27 season and includes a multi-year agreement.

The team is also launching Wild+, a team-owned and operated multimedia network for the coming season. Wild+ will carry 67 games and the first round of the playoffs, while the other 17 regular-season games will be exclusively broadcast by the NHL's national partners, including ABC, ESPN, ESPN+/Hulu, and TNT.

Prime Video will be the exclusive local streaming home for six NHL teams, including the Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues. This deal gives Prime Video the exclusive local streaming rights for these teams starting in the 2026-2027 hockey season.

## What it means for fans The partnership between Prime Video and the NHL means that fans of the Minnesota Wild and other participating teams will have to subscribe to Prime Video to watch their team's games. The deal includes pre- and post-game shows and other team programming, according to Amazon.

## Why it matters The deal between Prime Video and the NHL is significant because it marks a shift towards streaming services as the primary platform for watching sports. With more and more people cutting the cord and opting for online streaming services, this deal reflects the changing viewing habits of sports fans. The partnership also highlights the growing importance of local sports coverage, with Prime Video already carrying a number of local sports team coverage, including the Seattle Kraken.

The Minnesota Wild's launch of Wild+ also demonstrates the team's commitment to providing its fans with a comprehensive and engaging multimedia experience. With Wild+ carrying 67 games and the first round of the playoffs, fans will have access to a wide range of content, including games, analysis, and behind-the-scenes footage.
