Sebi Cuts Market Intermediary Inspections

Sebi reduces inspections to one-third of last year's level, shifts focus to risk-based checks

Sebi has reduced the number of inspections for market intermediaries in FY27 to about one-third of last year’s level. The regulator will now prioritize risk-based, joint inspections using alerts, complaints and market intelligence. This revamped framework emphasizes efficiency and will result in a significant reduction in the number of inspections.
