Chalobah Leaves Chelsea

Trevoh Chalobah has ended his nearly 20-year association with Chelsea, joining Italian club Como 1907 in a £31m move. The 27-year-old defender made 151 appearances for Chelsea before his departure.

Chalobah's journey at Chelsea was not without its challenges. He was part of the 'bomb squad' under former boss Enzo Maresca in 2024 and was made available for transfer. However, he bounced back to become a regular starter for the Blues. In the 2024-2025 season, Chalobah made 47 appearances for Chelsea, his highest total in a single season.

Chalobah will now play under manager Cesc Fabregas at Como 1907. The defender's resilience and ability to overcome setbacks were key factors in his success at Chelsea. He believes that his ability to bounce back from challenges is one of his greatest attributes, both on and off the pitch.

## Why it matters The change in ownership at Chelsea in 2022, from Roman Abramovich to Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, led to a significant overhaul of the team. Many players were sold, and new ones were signed, creating a chaotic first two years. Despite this, Chalobah achieved his highest total of appearances for Chelsea in a single season, demonstrating his ability to adapt and thrive in challenging circumstances.

Chalobah's move to Como 1907 marks a new chapter in his career. He will be expected to provide leadership and demonstrate his resilience on the pitch. With his experience and skills, Chalobah is well-equipped to make a positive impact at his new club.

## What happens next As Chalobah begins his new journey at Como 1907, he will be looking to make a strong impression on the pitch. With his ability to bounce back from challenges and his experience playing in the Premier League, Chalobah is poised to be a key player for his new team. The upcoming season will be an exciting one for Chalobah, as he looks to establish himself as a leader and a key contributor to Como 1907's success.
