India Wins 3 Medals

Ashish Yadav won a silver medal in the men's javelin throw event at the World Athletics U20 Championships, with a third-round throw of 74.09m. Jan-Hendrik Heymans of South Africa took the gold medal with a throw of 80.50m, while Addison James of Dominica won the bronze with a throw of 73.89m.

The other Indian in the men's javelin throw finals, T Dharanidharan, finished sixth with a throw of 72.35m.

Basant Kumar Meghwal also won a silver medal in the men's high jump event, clearing a personal best of 2.21m. Shahnavaz Khan added a bronze medal in the men's long jump event with a best effort of 7.84m.

India's medal tally at the championships stood at three, with Pooja Singh, the national senior record holder in high jump, finishing seventh in the women's high jump final. The Indian women's 4x400m relay team finished ninth and last in the final.
