The most expensive regions include Madrid, the Balearic Islands, and Catalonia. Madrid is the most expensive region in Spain, with an average rent of €1,542 per month for an 80-square-metre home. The Balearic Islands have an average rent of €1,526 per month for an 80-square-metre home.

In contrast, Extremadura has an average rent of €630 per month for an 80-square-metre home, making it one of the cheapest regions in Spain. Castilla-La Mancha is another affordable region, with an average rent of €731 per month for an 80-square-metre home.

San Sebastián has the highest average rent among provincial capitals, at €1,610 per month for an 80-square-metre home. The average price per square metre in Spain is €14.14.
