Season 6 trailer drops with Cooke's Sid Baker, thought dead since Season 1, in a high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge premiering September 16
The trailer for Season 6 of Apple TV's 'Slow Horses' has been released, featuring the return of Olivia Cooke as Sid Baker, an agent who was believed to have died back in season one. The new season premieres on September 16, with one episode dropping each week until October 21.
Olivia Cooke's character, Sid Baker, was thought to be dead since season one, but the trailer reveals her return, teasing a high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge. The logline for Season 6 reads: 'Season 6 sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.'
Hugo Weaving also returns as Frank Harkness, the nefarious birth father of agent River Cartwright, in Season 6. The trailer previews plenty of explosions, shootouts, and even a knife fight, as the Slow Horses try to investigate and stay alive.
The team, including Louisa, who previously announced her intention to quit, is rounded up at a safe house and told to go off the grid. However, the order is seemingly ignored by several characters, including tech expert Roddy, who subsequently answers his phone.
## What's at Stake The stakes are high for the Slow Horses, with someone hunting down members of the crew. The trailer opens with Jackson Lamb, played by Gary Oldman, asking Diana Taverner if she knows anything about why his Slow Horses keep turning up dead. As the gang tries to track down their former colleagues to warn them of the danger, viewers are treated to glimpses of past cast members, including Rosalind Eleazar, who plays Louisa.
## New Season, New Faces The show also stars Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Jonathan Pryce, and Hugo Weaving. Joining the cast this season is BAFTA winner Lenny Rush. Gaby Chiappe is the head writer for Season 6, which is based on author Mick Herron's hit novels.
## Why it Matters The return of Olivia Cooke's character and the high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge make Season 6 a must-watch for fans of the show. With its intricate plot and complex characters, 'Slow Horses' has gained a loyal following, and the new season is expected to be just as thrilling. Season 5 of 'Slow Horses' is up for nine Emmys, including drama series, making the upcoming season even more highly anticipated.
