20-Minute Workout Unlocks Apple Reward

Apple will launch its annual National Parks Apple Watch activity challenge on August 23, 2026, to celebrate national parks across the United States. The challenge allows Apple Watch users to earn an award by doing a hike, walk, run, or wheelchair push that lasts for 20 minutes or more on August 23, 2026.

The challenge supports any workout type, as long as the duration is at least 20 minutes. This means that users can choose their preferred activity, whether it's a leisurely walk or a more intense run, and still earn the award as long as they meet the 20-minute requirement.

Completing the challenge will unlock a virtual trophy as well as animated stickers that can be used in Messages, FaceTime, and more. These stickers will include an animated version of the virtual trophy, a bird flying, someone hiking, and someone setting up a tent.

Apple typically offers other national parks-themed content in August, including an Apple Pay donation program, Apple TV content, Apple Music songs, books, podcasts, and more. This challenge is part of Apple's efforts to promote national parks and encourage users to engage in physical activity.

## Why it matters The National Parks Apple Watch activity challenge is a unique way for Apple to promote national parks and encourage users to engage in physical activity. By supporting any workout type and offering rewards for completing the challenge, Apple is making it easy and fun for users to get involved. The challenge also highlights the importance of national parks and the need to promote conservation and outdoor activities.

## What happens next The challenge will take place on August 23, 2026, and Apple Watch users can expect to receive an alert closer to the event. Users can participate in the challenge by recording a 20-minute workout on August 23, and they will receive their virtual trophy and animated stickers upon completion.
