Google Photos Tests Customizable Collections Tab

Google Photos is testing a customizable Collections tab that allows users to personalize their layout. The feature, found in version 7.90.0 of Google Photos, includes a dedicated Customize button that opens a simple interface for dragging and rearranging folders.

The Customize button is located toward the bottom of the Collections tab, above the floating bottom bar and below the "Send feedback" option. Tapping this button gives users the ability to reorder their folders, such as Places and People & pets, to their liking.

Users can also completely hide some albums from view using the customization interface. However, the pinned section cannot be moved, although pinned items can be completely hidden.

The customization tool was first spotted on a Pixel 9 device and only on one Google account. The new option disappeared after clearing the app's data, suggesting it is still in the testing phase.
