Unofficial voter registration process gains momentum with over 1.6 million citizens registered nationwide since June, ahead of further expansion with 5,000 mobile brigades
Over 1.6 million Angolans have completed the unofficial voter registration process nationwide since its launch in June. A total of 1,626,624 citizens have registered across the country, with the process expected to gain momentum as more mobile brigades are deployed.
The registration process is currently supported by 362 One-Stop Public Service Centres (BUAP) operational nationwide, with an additional 272 centres under implementation. Furthermore, 243 registration brigades are active across the country, with plans to increase this number.
In Cuanza-Norte Province, 17 mobile brigades will operate to serve remote and hard-to-reach areas, as part of the broader effort to deploy over 5,000 mobile brigades nationwide. The province has seen an average of 2,000 voters registered daily, with 17 operational BUAP centres and 14 more under implementation.
