Twenty-five emerging music creatives and professionals have been selected for the Nairobi edition of Swift Academy, a pan-African talent development platform created by Martell and curated by Africa House. The programme aims to provide participants with access to industry resources, including studio time, professional development support, and community spaces.
The mentors for the programme include notable figures in the music industry, such as Bensoul, Monica Kemoli, Anyiko Owoko, Njerae, and Joey Akan. These mentors will guide the participants through mentor-led conversations, breakout mentorship sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities.
The first programme session took place on Tuesday, 15th September, where participants heard directly from mentors through a panel conversation focused on their experiences and lessons from the industry. The programme will culminate in a showcase and progress presentations in October, giving participants the opportunity to share what they have developed over the course of the Academy.
