Delhi Sees 10 Days of Clean Air

Delhi has recorded its 10th consecutive day of satisfactory air quality, supported by light rain and cloudy skies that have dominated the capital's weather pattern in recent days.

The monsoon has delivered above-average rainfall to Delhi in August, with the city receiving nearly its monthly average precipitation in just eight days. This follows four consecutive rainy days that have reshaped weather conditions across the National Capital Region.

The heavy downpours have created significant disruptions elsewhere. Gurgaon's rain-soaked roads transformed evening commutes into an ordeal for residents, while waterlogging and traffic chaos spread across the broader NCR area.

The rainfall's impact extended beyond traffic delays. In Agra, a stretch of road caved in following the heavy rain, leaving behind a massive crater in Karmayogi Colony in Kamla Nagar. No vehicle was passing through the spot when the collapse occurred, averting a potential accident. The incident sparked local concern over road construction quality and civic preparedness, with residents demanding immediate repairs. Samajwadi Party leader Nitin Kohli visited the site and descended into the crater using a ladder.

According to meteorological tracking, the widest rain coverage across India is expected to span nearly two-fifths of the country, with the strongest activity concentrated over eastern India and the weakest over the northwest.
