Two Indian police officers stabbed in village brawl; two arrested

Two police constables were stabbed during a group clash in Murdeshwar village in Uttara Kannada, Karnataka, on Saturday night, August 8. Both officers were taken to hospital and confirmed to be out of danger.
Two rowdy-sheeters—repeat offenders with criminal records—were arrested in connection with the incident on Sunday, August 9. Police identified them as Raju and Manoj.
According to police accounts, the two men were fighting with each other when their followers joined the brawl. As the clash escalated, residents called the police. Two constables arrived at the scene and attempted to break up the fight, but members of the gangs stabbed the officers and fled.
A case has been registered against Ritik, Madan, Yogesh, Darshan and others. Police have formed a team to arrest the remaining gang members involved in the incident.
